Unlock Your Truest Wisdom Through
Somatic Coaching

Connect to the Power of Your Body for Personal Growth and Transformation

A LOVING WORD:

"Meg is so wise and tender. I felt so safe to explore some deep hurts (that I didn't even realize were there!) Meg gently and intuitively guided me through the feelings, bringing me back to my body with patience and love. Afterwards, I felt so calm and relieved, all my anxiety having dissipated."

- Eileen

What is somatic coaching?

At its core, somatic coaching understands that your body holds wisdom and knowledge that can inform and guide your personal journey. It goes beyond traditional coaching methods that primarily concentrate on cognitive processes and instead incorporates the wisdom of your body into the coaching process.

Somatic coaching recognizes that your body constantly communicates with you through sensations, emotions, and physical cues. By cultivating an awareness of these bodily experiences, you can tap into a deeper level of self-understanding and unlock the potential for profound personal growth.

Through somatic coaching, you are encouraged to engage in practices such as mindfulness, breathwork, and physical movement to reconnect with your body and learn to listen to your inner wisdom. By exploring and processing physical sensations and the emotions they generate, you can gain insights into your beliefs, patterns, and behaviors that may be holding you back.

One of the core principles of somatic coaching is that the body is a resource for change and improvement. By paying attention to your experiences and engaging in practices that promote awareness, you can access your own inner resources and cultivate new ways of being.

Are you…?

In our fast-paced world, it's easy to lose touch with the deeper core of our selves, our values, and our dreams. Through somatic coaching we guide you back to self-awareness and resource you with tools for daily renewed connection.

Losing touch with your self

If you're living with chronic pain or seeking healing from past experiences, somatic coaching provides a safe, self-directed, and compassionate space to help you explore and work with these parts of your life.

Dealing with chronic pain or blocked by past experiences

Struggling with decision-making and confidences

Learning to trust your gut or hear your inner voice takes practice.  Through somatic coaching you'll connect to your body's wisdom to develop confidence and improve decision-making skills.

“Week by week, we perceive and untangle the next challenge for me, unlocking the door into further enlightenment.

It is a never ending process. We dialogue, we use metaphor and we laugh a lot !”

~ Ruth

Your Coach:

Hi! I am Meg, your somatic coach and movement teacher.

I have spent years diving into the process of creating meaningful movement and thrive in helping others discover new patterns and supports to live a more inspired and healthful life.
I believe the body is the keeper of our stories and everyone of us has their own unique story to tell. Sometimes the story comes through words, sometimes through movement or sound or images. Together we can explore ways for you to uncover your unique narrative and develop resources to write your next chapter!

The nitty gritty is, I have completed two comprehensive Pilates trainings, several levels of yoga teacher trainings, multiple trauma-informed somatic studies and coaching. I have been faculty for different Pilates and yoga teacher trainings across Canada, especially on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. I have started and ran programs for several different studios and healthcare clinics. I also hold a bachelors degree in writing and anthropology. I am happy to share details about all of these things if you ask me.

If there is one thing I’ve learned through my own journey, it is that the quest we are on is about seeking excellence which requires curiosity and failure, and deep vulnerability.  When we are ready to start opening those doors then the awe and wonder of our exceptional gifts as humans starts to reveal itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is somatic coaching for?

Somatic coaching is for the curious! You likely already know that your body holds wisdom and yet you may be unsure how, or may be nervous to access that wisdom.  Working together can make all the difference!

Whether you are a CEO seeking to feel more confident in your decisions and communication, an artist searching to find new stories to unfold, or simply a human being hoping to live more fully in your life, the only requirement is a willingness to be open to the experience!

How often do I need to book?

The frequency of sessions can vary depending on your goals and schedule. To remain connected to the process, it is recommended to connect every couple of weeks.  Sometimes we may need to increase or decrease frequency based on the time you need for integration, action, and support

Does this replace therapy?

Somatic coaching offers a unique way to approach our beliefs and experiences.  It is future focused and uses our history as a way to make meaning and help shine light down the path were headed. It is not a replacement for therapy. It is a complementary approach that helps you gain insight into your patterns and behaviours.

What should I prepare/wear/bring to a coaching session?

We may need space to move. This could include getting on the floor and spreading out. However, we will always move within your range of comfort. You may want a mat or props, and cushions, etc. Put on your comfy clothes and do your best to ensure your camera is set up in a way that shows your body.
It is also recommended to have access to a journal and a pen.

How do I get started with somatic coaching?

Getting started is easy. You can sign up for a somatic coaching package to get started, or you can book a complimentary call to ensure we are the right fit!

I’m scared of what will happen in a session. Is that normal?

Feeling uneasy about opening up to hear your body's experiences is natural. It can be uncomfortable to hear what your body has to say and acknowledge feelings you maybe don't want to feel.
That's why we go slow and move at the pace that honours YOU and your experience!  And you'll also likely be delightfully surprised at how much better you feel, how much more room you have in your thoughts, and how much more energy you have for the things that are most important to you!  Sounds good, right?!
