Burnout

Let’s talk the real talk. Burnout is real. It’s not a weakness, it’s not in your head, it’s your body’s way of yelling at you to slow down. That’s the thing…the body tells us. It whispers, then if ignored, it whispers again, then it gets a little louder and a little louder and then it’s yelling. 

Yelling can show up as exhaustion, autoimmune conditions, migraines, digestive issues, insomnia, pain, and more.

And if we ignore, it keeps yelling.

One day, we decide to listen. We decide to ask our body what it needs. Most likely the answers aren’t ones we want to hear.

Slow down.

Take time off work.

Don’t go to that bootcamp class.

Look at your past.

And the list goes on.

The truth is that things won’t get better until we listen. Approaching ourselves with patience and kindness instead of anger and frustration.
